Recognizing Child Development Issues / Educational Video. Public domain video courtesy of CDC. It is time to change how we view a child’s growth. Do you know all the approaches you must measure your childs growth? We naturally think of height and weight, but from birth to five years, your child really should reach milestones in how he plays, learns, speaks and acts. A delay in any of these areas could be a sign of a developmental issue, even autism. The great news is, the earlier its recognized the more you can do to help your child reach her full possible. Early recognition of developmental disabilities such as autism is important for parents and providers. CDC realized the impact on families and invested in a campaign to help parents measure their children’s progress by monitoring how they play, find out, speak and act. What is child development? A child’s growth is a lot more than just physical. Youngsters grow, develop, and understand throughout their lives, beginning at birth. A child’s development can be followed by how they play, learn, speak, and behave. What is a developmental delay? Will my child just grow out of it? QUESTION: Do they have retart boxing in the Special Olympics? I would love to watch 2 retarts slug it out. THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!!! I’m not really sure if a retart can be knocked out. Do they even have a brain?

Excellent information for all parents that want to be informed, alert, and proactive during all stages of their children’s development. Parents are the very first point of contact each child has. They should have the ability to detect any signs of developmental delay or/ and boost the achievement of developmental milestones. At abckidsdevelopment-com we provide very useful information for parents.

@rosaryfilms, & @hiphopedu ….there are so many great points about this video I don’t even know where to begin.
ACT…ACT ACT ACT. That’s the most important thing. The other thing I recognized is the video specifically mentions exact ages to start monitoring specific changes. For instance….at 8 mos old is in terms of sensorimotor cognition….a secondary circular reaction of responding outwardly ….say …to the child’s own name is actually completely normal. Many don’t know that. A+

I have a website that sells early childhood development program. I would like to post this video on the website. Would that be OK? It is such a great program and marries into what we are trying to promote.

Very nice job! We would like to use this video in an asynchronous computer-based training for new child welfare caseworkers. Our users probably won’t have access to YouTube in their training environments so I was wondering if there’s a way to get this on a CD that can then be copied into our program?
